It is our 4th day in Japan, and we have settled in well as expected. Fortunately the temperature has only been around 28-30 degrees and overcast, so we are not sweating badly like you would in June & July.
Today we travelled to Kyoto which is only about a thirty minute train trip. We had a short walk to our nearest station and caught the monorail to Ibaraki where we caught the express train to Kyoto. We all got a bit wet, as it is raining quite heavily. We had umbrellas, so it wasn’t too bad.
I’m now writing this blog in my favourite coffee shop in Kyoto. Great coffee and nice upstairs area where I can indulge myself in people watching below and making up stories in my head. 🙂
Mami, Nana and Yuri left me here so they could shop and go to karaoke. They will be loving it. Meanwhile I am drinking coffee, reading my book and doing sudoku with wonderful jazz playing in the background. Bliss!
Two hours and the ladies have just returned. The said the rain has stopped so after they have had a drink we will be heading back home on the densha (suburban railway) and then catch the monorail back home. We’ve all had a great day doing things we like, smiles from everyone!
